Emergency mental health support
 Call 111 (option 2) as the first point of contact if experiencing a mental health crisis. Support is available 24/7.

Mental Health Crisis Café
The café provides support and a safe place for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis. It offers free help and advice for anyone 18 or older. Opening hours 17:00 – 23:00 daily

Young Person’s Sanctuary Bedford
Young people (14-17yrs) who are experiencing mental distress or crisis as well as those looking for a safe space to access some support.  No one will ever be turned away.
Young people are welcome to bring anyone from their support system.
Young people do not need to be known to mental health services to attend. 
Young people can still attend even if they are currently receiving support from CAMHs
this is a drop in service

FFLAG – FFLAG is a national voluntary organisation and registered charity. That is dedicated to supporting parents and families and their LGBT+ members. Qyouth Bedford – An LGBTQ+ Youth Group, in Bedford. They meet in a safe and welcoming space at Bedford. The group is run by experienced youth workers. Details of the group are kept under wraps to ensure everyone’s privacy, so contact them for more info!

Local Gender Identity Clinics

The Nottingham Centre For Transgender Health (based in Cambridge): The service will see patients who have been waiting on other gender clinics’ waiting lists and whose referral was received by the GIC prior to February 28, 2021.

Trans Plus – TransPlus have been asked by NHS England to see adults who were originally referred to the Tavistock and Portman Gender Identity Clinic (GIC). This is a change from our previous eligibility criteria and aims to reduce the extensive waiting list to be seen at the Tavistock GIC
