Who are we?

We are a community based LGBTQ+ organisation based in Bedfordshire, providing project's/activities for the queer community.
Our aims are to; 

  • Break the stigma and, through mutual support, tackle the social isolation that LGBTQ+ people often experience.
  • Strengthen local LGBTQ+ networks by creating safe spaces for creativity and active wellbeing.
  • Working together as representatives of public, private and voluntary sector organisations to improve health and social care experience for our community

 

Current Projects/Activities 

Queer Craftivism Collective

The Queer Craftivist Collective is a friendly group of like-minded LGBTQ+ folk and allies. No previous art or crafting experience necessary. We can learn together, to pursue common goals, and express our thoughts and values in creative, proactive ways. Materials and refreshments provided, just bring your enthusiasm. (donations are always welcome)

What is craftivism?

The act of using craft projects as a form of protest, to help raise awareness and make change through the use of art and creativity

What is our motivation?

Never has there been a more important time this century for LGBTQ+ solidarity, social support, and activism. Being creative expresses who we are, how we feel, and enhances our wellbeing, individually and collectively

We all want things to change, for things to get better. And often it feels difficult to find your voice.

  • If there's time for the loud, there's time for the quiet.
  • If there's time for the fast, there's a need for the slow.

Trans Inclusive
 Multi-sports sessions 

These sessions are a fun and relaxed no previous sport experience needed just turn up and have fun.

LGBTQ+ Trans inclusive swimming session

These swimming sessions are the first of it's kind in the east of England.

We have our swimming sessions twice a month, one of these sessions are in the afternoon and the other is in the evening.

These sessions are very relaxed and you can wear what makes you feel comfortable (no rules here)

Swimmers of variable abilities welcome as this is a social swim

LGBTQ+ soical

Come and join us for a cupper.

We host a regular social meet up at the Green Earth cafe at 13 St Pauls Square
every fortnight at 1pm.

This is a great space and time to meet  up and talk with like mined people

Gender variant Clothing swap

We are having a Gender Variant Clothing swap where you can come along and pick out a new outfit.
21st October 2023 12pm till 4pm 

You can either bring some items along to swap or you can "shop" (all items are free)
Each person will be given tokens to exchange for items. if you have donated items to the swap you will receive an extra token.

We are still looking for donation of clothing, hats, accessories, shoes, bags, wigs, toiletries and binders.

Variety show 

Please come along for what promises to be a great night, connect with other queer people and allies. 10% of donations will go to Rainbow Bedfordshire, which all gets directed to community projects we run.

We are looking into holding a LGBTQ+ Festival in May 2024 Date to be confirm.

We are looking for people to preform or could you run workshops on the day.

We asking for donations of toiletries and sanitary products, these products are for people who cannot get them due to social dysphoria and poverty.
